Title Construction Engineer
Location Columbus, NE

We are looking for a detail-oriented Civil / Construction / Architectural Engineer to be responsible for the evaluation and design of building projects. The Engineer is responsible for working with internal departments and external parties on building and design projects, ensuring the structural and functional integrity of building structures and systems and identifying and solving design flaws.

Needs to be meticulous, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a team. You should be analytical, have excellent time management skills, and the ability to find effective solutions to fit with the project’s timeline, budget, and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, analyzing, and altering plans, prototypes, or structures.
  • Ensuring building plans, prototypes, and structures are operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.
  • Assisting team members with project objectives, budgets, and timelines.
  • Establishing project goals.
  • Identifying and solving problems in building plans, prototypes, and structures.
  • Ensuring building systems are functional, reliable, and safe.
  • Participating in site visits.
  • Testing and evaluating building systems to find problems and improvements.
  • Reading, interpreting, and explaining complex technical documents.
  • Consulting with clients on building projects.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering or equal experience.
  • A Professional Engineering license is preferred but not required
  • Current knowledge of industry trends, technology, codes, and regulations.
  • Good team working and communication skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • An excellent working knowledge of science, mathematics, and engineering principles.
  • Strong analytical, critical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Well versed in one of the following: Solid Works, Auto CAD, or Revit
  • MS Word, Power Point, and Excel

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position in Columbus, NE. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evenings and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

Minimal to no travel is expected for this position.
